Lenny strikes again!

Since my previous post about Lenny I’ve had some comments complaining about cruelty to telemarketers (no, really). I do have some sympathy with the position; the guy calling me is just trying to do his job and get through life as best he can, and inconveniencing people through illegal cold calling is just an unfortunate side effect. Having said that, at least the telemarketers are getting paid when they’re wasting people’s time. And, while it’s not quite a defence of using Lenny to talk to the telemarketers, I can anecdotally report that the volume of inbound spam calls seems to have dropped by half since his epic set of discussions with the Indian call center last month. Perhaps some organizations are working off a central list and my number has been blacklisted somewhat (for the win!). Now about the only spam calls I get are the ones that are preceded by a robot message asking that I press ‘1’ to be connected. Not wanting these organization to be left out of the discourse, I’ve now figured out how to transfer an active call to Lenny.

Why do I mention this? Ah, well because I just got a call from people trying to help me with “my google listing”. Once I transferred the call, Lenny took the spam/scam artist all the way to the rickroll. Good work Lenny.

For those who appreciate Lenny like a connoisseur appreciates a fine wine,
here’s the call.

(Sadly, one of my audio files is too quiet. I’d finally managed to get the clip of Lenny chasing his ducks out of the house but I can’t get the volume normalized right. Somewhat disappointing. The ducks will have to wait until I can get a better clip.)
